Because everything is better when it’s shot in 3D! Right?

Baz Luhrmann, director of such films as Romeo and Juliet and Moulin Rouge, is currently gearing up to start production of an adaption of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby with Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey MacGuire, and Carey Mulligan in the principal roles.

Up until this point, I had faith in this adaptation… but for whatever reason, the Aussie auteur feels that Gatsby deserves the 3D treatment.

My only response to this bizarre bit of news is… Why in the fuck does Baz think shooting Gatsby in 3D would be a smart move?
